My name is Dorothy Hedley and I am an HLTA at Bowes Hutchinson’s Primary. I have worked here for 24 years, predominately in KS1 but also cover KS2 when required.
I enjoy all aspects of outdoor learning especially Forest School days. Last year I organised a sponsored bike ride for EYFS to raise money to promote outdoor Literacy and Numeracy. This also helped to develop links with Pre-school who I hopefully will be working with occasionally to develop literacy skills before entry to school.
I also run the ever popular Garden and Christmas After School Clubs and two years ago I managed to secure funding for a poly-tunnel.
I have just completed the Nuffield Early Language Intervention course and am looking forward to supporting children with this on their return to school.
I live in Cotherstone with my husband and have two sons and two granddaughters. My hobbies include gardening and cooking.
