Reading for Class 1

On Tuesday night your children will have brought home some books to share and discuss or read at home.
Please use Oxford Owl for School and Home website for daily reading to top up.
If you click on ‘Oxford Owl at Home’ there is a surplus of resources to use at home and most importantly lots of ebooks to read online 🙂
There are ‘tablet friendly’ ebooks and lots of top tips for reading and enjoying stories together. There are picture books available for the Reception children to ‘re-tell’ the story (eg, The Haircut, Fetch, The Hedgehog, The Library etc) and Year 1 and 2 children can match their book band colours from their books at home to the books online.
I’m sure you will have lots of books of your own to share and chat about together too and even maybe some magazines!
Have fun reading

A message from Ann Unwin (our peripatetic music teacher)
Hello everyone,
Did you know that we offer webcam instrumental tuition to adults? We have 2, 5 and 10 week courses of lessons available to buy via our website.
Maybe you’ve recently picked up your instrument for the first time in years and would just like a couple of refresher lessons or maybe you’d like to start from scratch…this is a great opportunity to have a go!

you need is inside the pack. Everything is outside the school entrance to collect when you can.
Who can grow the tallest sunflower? We will have a competition and see!

Hi, here are a couple of links from Sedgefield School Sports Partnership. We work with this partnership to deliver the Fit For Life programme in school and they are publishing videos on their Facebook page to show how these activities can be done at home. There is also a link to their website where a Summer Sports Bingo sheet can be downloaded which has lots of interesting activities on it.
I hope you find these useful.
